Letter from the President
This has been a great and exciting year for the company. Recently, we launched
the MindBox Power Portal. This cutomizable web site technology allows lending
institutions to quickly launch private branded, comprehensive web sites for automating
the underwriting and approval of mortgage loan applications. With MindBox
Power Portal, brokers, loan officers and other originators are able to submit specific
borrower and loan information to a web site for automatic analysis by MindBox's
ART
Enterprise™ Decisioning Engines, including ART
Optimize™, ART
Qualify™
and ART
Price™. For every loan submitted, multiple loan scenarios are automatically
generated by MindBox's deal structuring capabilities and displayed by the MindBox
Power Portal. This allows us to provide a very powerful and flexible "face"
to our decisioning engines.
We've also added a number of new customers to our impressive client list.
Thanks to many of you who have agreed to provide references. This year is
a tremendous growth year for the company and it is your trust and loyalty that has
made it possible. We take this responsibility very seriously. Thank
you for allowing us to help you change the face of the mortgage lending industry.
I hope you find this edition of
Out of the Box informative. If you
have any questions, please feel free to contact me. We are committed to your
success. Feel free to call or write any time
rich.barfus@mindbox.com!
Thank you for your continued support.

Technology Update with Brian Sauk
We have had some significant product rollouts recently, and others planned for release
in the next few months:
- In August, we released PE version 4.5, which includes an LDAP interface for login
authorization, and generalized entities. Numerous other improvements were
incorporated based on customer feedback.
- In June, our core decisioning engine was integrated with Marshall Swift's RCT Express
product, providing value added decisioning on top of the valuation and hazard data
from RCT Express. The system went live in September.
- In July, ARTEnterprise 10.1.1 was released, with performance improvements
for object patterns, and improved ESP control for failed transactions.
- In September we released MindBox Power Portal (MPP) version 2.1 — this is the latest
version of our portal interface to ARTOptimize™.
MindBox in the News
MindBox® made the following announcements in September and
November:
- Paul Financial LLC — Paul Financial, a San Rafael, Calif.-based
mortgage lender, has turbo-charged its loan origination system with MindBox's Power
Portal, Power Editor and ARTOptimize™ technology. Paul Financial
deployed MindBox's decisioning products to enable mortgage loan decisioning and
deal structuring capabilities via a web portal — including the ability to manage
and easily maintain loan pricing and underwriting guideline changes.
- Ameritrust Mortgage Co. LLC — Ameritrust, a nationally recognized
mortgage lender based in Charlotte, N.C., has deployed MindBox Power Portal and
an ASAP system. The MindBox solution has enabled Ameritrust to automate the
loan pre-approval, data gathering and underwriting processes within a Web-based
broker portal. Thus allowing the lender to reduce operating costs while increasing
the volume of loans processed and approved. Additionally, the simple-to-use,
point-and-click functionality allows Ameritrust's sales staff to quickly import
1003 loan application data, pull credit information from dozens of vendors, and
obtain loan approvals and pricing. The entire MindBox solution was deployed
and operational with a full set of Ameritrust product guidelines in less than 90
days.
MindBox was featured in some interesting press this last quarter. National
Mortgage News did a feature article about the MindBox Power Portal and how it brings
automated loan decisioning to the point of sale. MindBox CEO Rich Barfus was
quoted and some of our capabilities were highlighted.
MindBox has also been featured in several key articles in such publications as Mortgage
Technology Magazine, Real Estate Technology News, Origination News, Origination
Times, Secondary Marketing Executive, National Real Estate Investor and
Mortgage Banking Magazine.
