MindBox provides the MindBox Power Editor with ARTPrice™, ARTQualify™ and ARTOptimize™.
The MindBox
Power Editor is a multi-level editing application that allows business users to
modify or update automated business policies. It also allows the business user to
define the hierarchy and organization of rules in the system, ensuring that the system follows the business practices required.
Empowering business users with the
ability to maintain and develop business rules for an automated system, has been
an elusive challenge.
Many companies have attempted to create rule editors that
use a
natural-language approach. These editors are at first glance appealing; however,
they fail to scale and therefore, are not practical for commercial applications.
MindBox's Power Editor manages
rules through an intuitive graphical user-interface that is designed to use the
paradigm and language with which the business user is familiar. In addition, the
MindBox Power Editor accomplishes this functionality in a user-friendly environment
that is scalable and does not sacrifice performance.
Benefits of MindBox Power Editor
- Enables the development, management and modification of policies/rules and related
objects.
- Allows for policies/rules to be applied to one or more contexts such as product,
channel, and investor — as opposed to having to reduce everything down to the product
level.
- Creates a centralized repository of business knowledge, managed by business professionals,
ensuring consistency of decisioning across the enterprise.
- Includes a flexible template editor to allow rapid development of new policy types (e.g.,
to add "State" constraints to an existing table).
- Improves the overall design and management of "products" by allowing for greater
variation within a single product, rather than having to create a new product for
every little attribute change.
- Provides for role-based security, enabling different users to maintain and update
defined areas of the system.
- Enables setting of sunrise-and-sunset-date control over policies and other business
entities (product parameters) enabling activation and expiration of these elements.
This means that rules are “retired” not deleted, thereby allowing a historical snapshot
of business logic.
- Provides consistency controls, ensuring that conflicting rules are not created.
- Includes automated generation of rules from the repository, removing the need
for IT involvement.
- Allows for configuration to match the way the business works rather than having
to reorganize the business to the specifications of the tool.
